I publish a newsletter about tech news, geek entertainment and politics which regularly includes a healthy dose of journalism critique and media deconstruction. A lot of what you see will be influenced by my own political views, which generally tend to be more conservative than the mainstream and as such present a nice alternative to the general progressive slant most other writers on these topics exhibit. You deserve better news and a renegade freelance operative not influenced by newsroom politics or advertising money is your best shot at getting it.
These posts will eventually find their way onto my blog, but if you want to be in the loop as early as possible, you can subscribe to my newsletter below. I will send you less than four emails a week on average and no spam or advertising of any kind – that's a promise.
What does edgerunner mean?
An edgerunner is a kind of freelance mercenary in the Cyberpunk universe created by Mike Pondsmith. Someone who lives on the edge between giant corporations, politicians and the criminal underworld, constantly trying not to get crushed by forces more powerful than them and barely scraping by. They have no loyalties other to themselves and their friends, and as such, can do and say what they want at all times. Everyone else is always out to get them anyway. I find it is a fitting analogy to the life of a freelance journalist these days.
I previously published a daily newsletter commenting on tech subjects. You can find archived issues of that content here:
