We live in a very dangerous world. Things get more complicated all the time, yet the people we trust to explain these things to us would often rather lecture us on morality or whatever their current agenda is. I originally got into journalism, and podcasting even before that, to take up the mantle of what I perceived as a dying art: to tell people what was happening in a way that was useful to them in making their own decisions. Eventually, I found that the only way to continue this mission was to leave corporate media organisations behind and strike out on my own.
